THE SPACE Sunset Beach Tower is an uber cool, heritage listed, 60’s apartment block located right on the foreshore of Melbourne’s famous St .Kilda Beach. Literally across the road is St. Kilda Pier with its daily parade of Little Penguins at dusk, St. Kilda West Beach with its white sand and kite boarders and the heritage listed Catani Gardens. The gardens, named after the designer, Carlo Catani feature a historic band rotunda, popular children’s playground and pony rides on weekends. St. Kilda has long been a popular Melbourne tourist attraction. St. Kilda West is a small highly desirable pocket of the suburb with the famous St. Kilda beach on one side with its ever popular sandy and sparkling beach. The modern, well-equipped kitchen has all the needed appliances, including a Nespresso coffee machine. A well-stocked pantry is provided for cooking convenience. The bench top meals area seats two. The apartment features a large screen Smart TV, Bluetooth sound speaker, fast NBN wi-fi, washing machine and a panel heater that adds convenience and comfort. The apartment has access to a large sunny swimming pool. The apartment is secure with intercom, lift access and a fenced off-street car space. For guests with young children a porta cot and high chair is available on request for which use would impact the compact size of the apartment. KILDA WEST AND SURROUNDS St. Kilda West is an iconic beachside suburb and one of Melbourne’s most culturally and economically diverse neighborhoods. It is a traditional haven for musicians, artists and writers, drawn to the European ambience and fresh ocean breezes. At night, St. Kilda has an edgier side, but by day, it features a relaxed, cruisy vibe. In Summer, St. Kilda beach and surrounds are the scene. Melbournians and international visitors flock to this popular iconic beach. In Winter, the cool bay winds blow over Port Phillip Bay and waves lap onto its long beach with walkers and bike riders passing by. Nearby upper Beaconsfield Parade hosts the Hotel Esplanade (“The Espy”) famous for drinking, dining and legendary live music and arts and craft market stalls on a Sunday. The many fashion boutiques and outdoor bars display St. Kilda’s easy-going, relaxed and cool attitude. On any weekend morning, bike riders fly down Beaconsfield parade whilst bikers cruise along nearby Acland Street, showing off their motorcycles whilst the late morning crowds are usually too busy at brunch to notice. A visit to Acland Street truly is a must visit for crowd gazing and its famous cake stops and cafes. Rides whirl at the world’s oldest operational amusement Luna Park. It is a year-round, fun place for people of all ages. A walk in and through nearby Albert Park with its stunning lake and cityscape views is a must. Albert Park is Melbourne’s premier sports and recreation park. Within the park go swimming at the Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre with its many pools, wave pool and giant slide, go watch a football or cricket match, walk the dog or hit a golf ball at the driving range or championship golf course. Albert Park is the home of the annual Australian Grand Prix. St. Kilda is a perfect place visit and stay all year round. GUEST INFORMATION CARS AND PARKING There is one secure, fenced off, car space for Unit 17. Access is required by using the remote control that is provided on arrival in the apartment. Paid parking is available on the street. There is usually a parking spot right out front of the apartment on Beaconsfield Parade. There is no onsite parking for guests. TAXIS AND UBER. There are always plenty of taxis in the area. If you need one call 1300TAXI. Uber is recommended where you can request a taxi ride and can be picked up minutes later by an independent driver with users paying in advance by credit card. You can even keep track of the approaching ride via live mapping. It's a great service at competitive prices. Download the App. TRAMS Less than 6 kilometers from the city, St.Kilda West is well served by two trams. The No. 12 Tram which travels to the city terminates at nearby Park Street. Also nearby passing by in Fitzroy Street is the No. 96 Light Rail which is one of Melbourne's premier tourist routes. It also travels to the city and terminates in popular Acland Street, St.Kilda. Trams depart roughly every twelve minutes. The city is about 25 minutes away and St.Kilda is only 5 minutes away by tram. Electric bikes and scooters can be hired using the Lime or Uber Apps. Download the App and find a nearby bike or scooter. Helmets must be worn in Victoria. NOISE AND NEIGHBOURS Guests should have consideration for the neighbors and the neighborhood. Noise and amplified music must be turned down after 10:00pm. PETS No pets are permitted in the apartment. COMMUNAL POOL Pool access only for guests, no visitors. Under no circumstance is alcohol permitted on the pool deck. The pool deck is not to be used for large social gatherings or parties.
